Telenor begins recruitment for leadership positions in Myanmar

Establishes "Telenor Myanmar Academy" for employee training and development Recruitment will be carried out in three phases this year

Yangon, Myanmar - August 13, 2013 – Telenor Myanmar today launched an employee recruitment program to support its rapid roll-out of a state-of-the-art telecommunications network and affordable mobile communication services.

Telenor Myanmar seeks to replicate the success that Telenor Group has had in other markets in Asia in developing strong local talent as the foundation for its world-class operations. It will also leverage its global expertise to meet its business start-up objectives in a program that will bring modern telecommunications to Myanmar.

In launching its recruitment program, Telenor Myanmar is adopting a multi-phased approach that is aligned with its business plan and that will enable the company to recruit resources in a way that matches its business milestones. The first phase of Telenor Myanmar's recruitment strategy, running from today until the end of September, will focus on the company's immediate need for experienced, management-level candidates to build up a strong leadership team that will be responsible for developing strategies and managing the company's commercial launch and roll-out. The second and the third phases, which will be carried out from October to December of this year, will aim to recruit telecom and technology experts and professionals who will play a strategic role in establishing a state-of-the-art mobile telecommunications network in Myanmar.

By the end of 2013, Telenor Myanmar expects to have filled its immediate recruitment targets and to have ensured that the right resources are in place to support the company's objectives of delivering affordable and accessible mobile communications products and services to customers throughout Myanmar.
