Free Facebook and Viber with Sate Kyite – Telenor’s newest tariff plan

  • Offers attractive proposition of customers’ favourite social media platforms for Free!
  • Customers also have the option of remaining with current Super Pwar plan

June 30, 2016, Yangon – Telenor Myanmar Limited (“Telenor”) today announced a new tariff plan that further underscores the company’s commitment to delivering the most innovative and relevant voice and data services for mass market customers in Myanmar.

The new Sate Kyite plan, which will be available to all Telenor customers on a subscription basis from 12am on July 1, 2016, builds on Myanmar’s love for social media, offering customers free Facebook and Viber, on the country’s largest data network.

Customers on this plan will enjoy voice and data services at 20 Kyat/min and 6 Kyat/MB respectively during off-peak hours (7:00 pm to 7:00 am). Voice and data tariffs during peak hours will be 25 Kyat/min and 8 Kyat/MB during peak hours (7:00 am to 7:00 pm).

Customers may subscribe to Sate Kyite via SMS by sending the keyword “SK ON” to 365, by dialing *365*3# or by calling Telenor’s call center at (0) 979 0097900 (or just 979 for Telenor customers). First time activation will offer 7 days of free Facebook and Viber; consequent validity will depend on customers’ recharges.

Our new Sate Kyite plan delivers a fantastic offer to customers who love social media, particularly Facebook and Viber – now giving them the option of using these services for free. “Additionally, customers who love voice and basic data will continue to be able to enjoy them at the lowest rates through our existing, well-loved Super Pwar plan. We believe that with these two main tariff plans, we will be able to deliver to the different tastes and usage needs of different customers in Myanmar,” Myrthong added.

Choice and flexibility

The new Sate Kyite plan will exist alongside Telenor’s existing Super Pwar plan, under which customers enjoy Telenor’s Smart Internet at 6 Kyat/MB, and voice rates of 18 Kyat/min to other Telenor numbers, and 23 Kyat/min to non-Telenor numbers.

All other tariffs (such as SMS, IDD, and Roaming) and services (Balance transfer, Kyo Thone, and MY Tune) remain unchanged. Telenor’s My Internet data plan at 5 Kyat/MB will also continue to be available on basic tariff plans.

Telenor today provides mobile connectivity in all States and regions across the country. Telenor’s network today spans more than 5,700 sites nationwide.
