Children’s art-works to be used for Telenor 2016 Calendar
Nov 16, 2015 - Yangon–Telenor Myanmar Limited (“Telenor”) today announced a list of twelve children selected as best painters for Telenor Calendar Project. Each child’s artwork will be used in Telenor’s 2016 desktop calendar, and the winners will be supported by USD700 worth of equivalent educational assistance,such as laptops and computer trainings.
In the first week of September, Telenor through its partnered Mango Marketing Agency invited children aged 10 to 12 to compete in the Telenor Calendar Project, under the topic “My Dream Myanmar”. Over 670 children from 14 different states and divisions, and from Nay Pyi Taw contested the painting competition, from which three professional judges chose 20 candidates to compete for final selection.
“We provided one week-long in-house art training by Global Art Myanmar to the final 20 candidates. The children then had to compete for final selection under a surprise topic. We posted the children’s artworks in Telenor Myanmar’sFacebook, and chose 12 final winners based on the number of“Likes” by Facebook users,” said Ko Nay Myo, acting head of Brand & Advertising of Telenor Myanmar.
For the final selection, the children competed under the topic of “The happiest moment in my life,”
Daw Nyo Nyo Sann from Nyaung Shwe in Shan State, a mother of 12 year old winner Khin Thiri Thaw said, “It was a great chance for my daughter to get support from Telenor.She was so happy when she visited and rode the slides in a park of Yangon since it was her first visit to Yangon,” DawNyNyo San added.
Mg ZayLatyar Htun from Basic Education High School (3), Monywa,was also part of the winning list.“I want to become an artist. I’m so happy to be chosen as final winner and to see my art in Telenor’s 2016 calendar,” he said.
He added, “The MBS and participants generally agreed to have a same platform so that all internet users can support for the development of content in Myanmar language. As an operator, we believe that we can continue to work closely with the bloggers, IT experts and others to assist the online community development.”
“We are amazed that many children are eager to participate in the contest. We also happy that we have chance to support the children’ hobbies to become their dreams come true,” said Ko Nay Myo from Telenor.
The twelve winners came from different areas of the countries including Kachin, Kayah, Shan, Sagaing, Bago, Rakhine and Ayeyarwaddy.
