The largest 3G data network in Myanmar
Telenor operates the largest 3G network in Myanmar today, spanning over 4,000 sites across the country and serves more than 12 million customers, 57% of whom are active Internet users. Since September 2014, Telenor has expanded its network to more than 50% of population and townships in Myanmar, and has more than 50,000 points-of-sales (POS) across the country.
“We currently have three major fiber links carrying Internet Data to International data gateways for Telenor Myanmar, the setup is such that if one link is down, traffic is automatically shifted to other available links and there is no impact on the customers’ internet experience, rarely it happens that all three links get damaged at the same time leading to complete outage of data services. We will keep continuing to provide the best voice and data services to our customers,” said Petter Furberg, CEO of Telenor Myanmar.
