Graduates from computer and technological universities/colleges are eligible to apply
Telenor Myanmar Limited (“Telenor”) has introduced its first Technology Trainee Program (TTP) aiming to help prepare local young talents to be industry-ready for highly competitive workplaces. The program will offer talented fresh graduates a one-year contract with the company. Outstanding trainees from the programme could potentially secure full-time employment with the company, following the completion of the programme.
“As Myanmar has opened up recently finding suitable skilled workers is still a challenge especially for new industries including telecommunications. We believe this program will help fill such a gap by producing industry-ready talents for the Myanmar workforce. The program also offers opportunities for young graduates to work alongside Telenor’s experienced local and international colleagues on on-going projects. We are pleased to introduce this program, which is one of a series of program to empower youths and young people in Myanmar,” said Goldie Shwe Yee Win Lei, Chief People Officer at Telenor Myanmar.
As the first batch of the program Telenor will recruit 10 graduates as ‘technology trainees’. The program aims to recruit graduates from computer universities and graduates with specialization in Electrical Communication and Information Technology from technological universities. Other graduates who have diploma or certificates relevant to the program’s job scope will also be considered.
Selected candidates will be contracted to work with Telenor for 12 months starting from August 2017. Five opportunities each will be opened in telecommunication network and information technology functions at Telenor. Trainees will participate in a Telenor’sthree-day onboardingsession before joining theirrespective workplace. The onboardingsessions normally cover topics such as introduction to Telenor Group and Telenor way of work, code of conduct,andinformation security at the workplace.

Telenor has also introduced internship program as part of empowering Myanmar youths and strengthening their career development and employability. The internship program, launched in 2016, accepts tow entries of interns – from May to July and from October to December on a yearly basis providing minimum 3-month exposure to the company’s Workplace. Students and fresh graduates from the fields of study such as Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Computer Technology, Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Business Management, Human Resource Management, and Public Relations & Communications are potential candidates for the company’s internship program.
