Telenor Myanmar ispleased to announce that the company will host industry-visits for technological university students as part of the company’s efforts in empowering youths and strengthening knowledge of university students in Myanmar.
On 16 and 17, total 140 third year students from West Yangon Technological University paid industry visit to Telenor House in Yangon. The students were introduced with Telenor’s operations in the country and the company’s way of work, learning opportunities available at Telenor for Myanmar youths and students, and briefings on telecommunications network and IT service management.
“We are pleased to host these industry visits as they offer valuable hands-on introduction to latest technologies utilized in the real workplace, in addition to getting exposure to learning and career opportunities that are available for them in the future. Similar industry visit opportunities are also provided to students from the universities and colleges that have signed collaboration agreement with us and we look forward to empowering youths and students in the future,” said Ronny Bakke-Naevdal, acting Chief People Officer at Telenor Myanmar.
Telenor is strengthening collaboration with universities and colleges in Myanmar in order to help students strengthen knowledge on their fields of study and prepare them to be industry-ready talents. Telenor has already signed collaboration agreements with 3 technological universities and colleges in Myanmar. They are Thanlyin Technological University (TTU), National Management Degree College (NMDC) and Hmawbi Technological University.
The collaboration agreement will allow Telenor to provide a series of career talks, industry visits, and internship program for the university students. Career talks will cover topics related to career and learning and development opportunities in Telenor Myanmar. Industry visit will allow the students to personally experience a real workplace.
