Rural townships in Ayeyarwaddy, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan and Chin to receive Telenor’s award-winning 4G/LTE network
Telenor Myanmar speeds up the expansion of its award-winning 4G/LTE services into more rural areas across the country with the aim to cover 250 townships by the end of the year.
To maximise its coverage to larger population nationwide, Telenor is expending its 4G/LTE network which is currently available in more than 180 cities across all regions and states in Myanmar. Many townships from Ayayarwaddy, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan and Chin are among the first batch to have Telenor’s 4G/LTE network expansion in July.
“As part of our commitment to provide the best customer experience throughout Myanmar, we have rolled out our 4G network across all States and Regions in order to offer the superior data experience to the customers. We are looking forward to expand our 4G network in more cities and townships in several regions and states during the coming months and more of our customers will be able to enjoy our most affordable and fastest data network very soon,” said Amaresh Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer of Telenor Myanmar.
Falam and Thantlang townships in Chin State, Thandaunggyi township in Kayin State and Kyaukphyu, Rathedaung, Ramree, Buthidaung, Maungdaw, Pauktaw and Gwa townships in Rakhine State are among the townships which will be added to Telenor’s 4G/LTE network in the upcoming upgrades.
Understanding the network quality is as important as the coverage, Telenor’s Network Ambassador, 4GLeo will also continue his journey across the country to check the condition of the network and to engage to the customers.
“I have previously visited a number of townships that our 4G network has already covered. Significantly, customers in many towns in various regions were found having Telenor’s best network quality. As I engaged with several customers whenever I travelled, and I also received good feedback on Telenor network qualities. And it is also good that I could help some customers having network issues and make them happy with our services,” said 4G Leo, Myat Thura.
In last April, Telenor Myanmar was named the 2017 Award Winner for Myanmar’s fastest mobile network by Ookla, the global leader in internet testing based on data from Q3–Q4 2017. In the same month, Telenor achieved the fastest internet speed ever achieved in Myanmar, the 1GBPS, in a joint network speed trial with Ericsson.
Telenor Myanmar has officially launched its 4G/LTE services since June, 2017 and today provides a data network with widest coverage and best user experience. With more than 8,000 sites nationwide, Telenor serves more than 19 million customers in all States, Regions and territories through its award-winning 3G and 4G network.
