Telenor connects more than 300 townships in Myanmar to its 4G/LTE network ahead of plan.
Telenor has more than 5,000 operational 4G/LTE sites, and aim to roll out additional 1,100 4G/LTE sites across the country in 2019.
Telenor Myanmar has announced that its high-quality 4G/LTE network now covers more than 300 townships, which is 90% of the whole country. In September, Telenor set an ambitious goal of bringing 4G/LTE network to 300 townships by the end of the year. Now, the goal is achieved two weeks ahead of plan with over 5,000 sites in operation. In 2019, Telenor will have more than 6,000 sites broadcasting 4G/LTE, to provide customers with the country’s best data experience.
As Bawlakhe, Hopang, Shadaw, Lukkaing, Sidoktaya, Mingin and Hkamti townships have recently been added to Telenor’s 4G/LTE network, customers in those townships have joined the increasing community of people experiencing the affordable and innovative 4G/LTE services offered by Telenor Myanmar.
“Telenor is working tirelessly to deliver a high-quality mobile phone experience to everyone in the country. That is why connecting more than 300 townships in Myanmar to our 4G/LTE network is a significant milestone for the company. I am confident that this achievement will truly benefit our customers, and will satisfy their increasing need for speedy and reliable data,” said Sharad Mehrotra, Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Myanmar.
“In Telenor, we are serious about network quality. To maintain the best network quality, our technology team ensures that we have coverage in more than a limited part of the township before we are satisfied with our 4G/LTE roll-out in the area. We take pride in designing a high-quality mobile network that gives Myanmar people the best experience when watching videos, playing games or listening to music on their phones,” said Jai Prakash, Chief Technology Officer of Telenor Myanmar.
Telenor Myanmar aims to be best on the data network, and our mobile network ambassador 4G Leo is continuously out in the streets to ensure the quality of its superb network.
Telenor Myanmar officially launched its 4G/LTE services since June 2017 and at present, its 2G, 3G and 4G network serves 18 million customers in all states, regions and territories. In April 2017, Telenor Myanmar was recognized as the fastest network in the country as received Ookla’s Speedtest Award, based on the finding of the analysis of millions of consumer-initiated tests performed on the web and mobile Speedtest platforms during the second half of the year.
