Telenor continues its "Safe Internet" school talks

7th September 2016, Yangon – Telenor Myanmar Limited (“Telenor”) today conducted Safe Internet talk at Bawathit Private School in Yangon as part of its “Safe Internet” school outreach pilot activities launched in early August. Topics discussed at the talk include how to use Internet effectively, how to avoid the possible dangers on the Internet under the topics of cyber bulling, cyber grooming and hate speech. More than 250 students participated in the talk that aims to help people use Internet in a safer and more responsible way. Under the initiative Telenor will conduct Safe Internet talks at a number of government and private high schools in Yangon, and private and monastic schools in Mandalay by the end of 2016. In addition to the school outreach activity, a series of briefing and awareness sessions on safe Internet will also be conducted in Telenor’s Light Houses and non-formal education classes under the Safe Internet Programme.
